Faced with an unprecedented challenge globally, nationally and locally, Jeremy and the Labour front bench team have been pressing the government hard to be honest with the public and to introduce measures on a scale to match the size of the problem.

They have been pressing for the fullest possible support for our health and social care systems and those working within them as the crisis escalates. And they have pressed for immediate support for businesses, home owners, renters and people in financial difficulties. As John McDonnell said: “There must be no small measures.”

Here in Islington, many Labour Party members have been involved in setting up support groups via Facebook and WhatsApp to coordinate volunteers and identify those who need support with shopping, collecting prescriptions and, sometimes, just a supportive phone call.
