Today is Jeremy Corbyn’s last day as Leader of the Labour Party and, as Chair of Islington North Labour Party, I want to thank him for his tireless and inspirational work not only as Leader of the Party but also as our MP.

I firmly believe that his contribution to the Party and to the whole country has been immense and that history will vindicate him on the most important political and economic issues of our turbulent times.

I now look forward to supporting whoever is chosen as the next Leader in building on this achievement and leading the Party into the Labour government that will deliver on the promises of the 2017 and 2019 manifestos.

And I look forward to working with Jeremy here in Islington as he continues to do what he’s always done and always will do — stand up for the people of Islington North, support them in good times and bad, and be the best constituency MP anyone could wish for.
